Final Class Reflection

Class Reflection 1. One thing I really liked about the class was that we got to experiment with Scratch. Its a really fun way to get to learn more about coding. One game that I really liked is how you can code the Scratch cat to do whatever you want it to. 2.   N/A 3. I think to improve the class we should do something different everyday, instead of always having the same routine. 4. A highlight for me was doing the Computer Science Vocabulary because I got to learn new words and definitions. 5. I believe I tried really hard on all of my blog posts and also completing flashcard machine cards. My current grade is an A. I believe I thouroughly reflected on all of my blog posts and really understood the content. 6. Yes, I do try to write in and read my life-planning goals journal at least 5 minutes a day. I really like to do this because it allows me to really analyze and reflect on my goals, as well as make journal entries about my day. 7. I am committed to being a CTR...

Innovation

Innovation: Electric Vehicles  Electric cars runpartially on electricity. Unlike conventional vehicles that use gas or diesel-powered engines, electric cars and trucks use an electric motor powered by electricity from batteries or a fuel cell. Not all electric vehicles (EV's) work the same way. "Plug-in hybrids" offer both gas or diesel engine and an electric motor: the motor is powered by a battery that can be recharged by plugging in. Other EVs forgo liquid fuels entirely, operating exclusively on electricity. Still others power an electric motor by converting hydrogen gas into electricity.Conventional hybrid vehicles also have an electric motor, but aren’t considered EVs as they can’t be plugged-in. Electric cars in terms of air pollution and greenhouse gasses is that more safe and effecient option. Though they can be very pricy, the cost is often reduced through federal and state incentives. Just 2 months ago, I was at an electric vehicle fair event with Communitie...

7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Image
7 Habits of Highly Effective People Habit 1:  Be Proactive "Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger." Being proactive means to take responsibility for your own life. We can't always blame our family, friends, or others for certain things that happen in our life. Proactive people recognize that they are "responsable." They dont blame genetics, circumstances, or conditions for there behavior, because they know they choose how to behave. Opposite to reactive people who for example, might base how they are feeling off the weather. All of the external sources act as stimuli that we choose to respond to. Between the stimuli and the response is our power, the freedom to choose a response. Proactive people focus their time ...

Importance of Setting Goals

Image
It is important to set your goals because those are milestones in your life. Goals are what give you focus and direction in life. By setting goals for yourself you give yourself a target to shoot for. This sense of direction is what allows your mind to focus on a target and rather than waste energy shooting aimlessly, allows you to hit your target and reach your goa l.By setting goals for yourself you are able to measure your progress because you always have a fixed endpoint or benchmark to compare with. Also by setting goals you give yourself mental boundaries. When you have a certain end point in mind you automatically stay away from certain distractions and stay focused towards the goal. When you set a goal for yourself you make yourself accountable to finish the task. This is in complete contrast with when you do things based off a whim and it doesn't matter whether you complete them or not. Goals are simply tools to focus your energy in positive directions, these can b...

Freelance Post 9/20/17

Today I feel very neutral about everything. I was really looking forward to donate blood (even though I always get super scared and panicked), but I could not donate. This was due to the fact that I had already gone to the Cedar-Sinai blood donation center last month. They told me that I was eligible again on November 4th, but they still gave me a shirt for trying. Even though I'm really scared to donate blood I still do it, because I know that a person in need will make much more use of it than I will. Today we have an away game at Legacy High Schoolwhich I feel dread and excitement for.

Computer Science Current Event

New gesture control technology that can turn everyday objects into remote controls could revolutionize how we interact with televisions, and other screens Imagine changing the channel of your TV simply by moving your cup of tea, adjusting the volume on a music player by rolling a toy car, or rotating a spatula to pause a cookery video on your tablet. New gesture control technology that can turn everyday objects into remote controls could revolutionize how we interact with televisions, and other screens -- ending frustrating searches for remotes that have slipped down the side of sofa cushions. Reflection: My thoughts on this is that it is really cool but also very scary at the same time. It is crazy how much technology has advanced over the past couple of years. I think that I would not like to control a TV screen or any other screen like this because it would make me lazy, whereas I can just get up and grab the remote. You can even change the channel with your pet cat, which ...

Las Vegas Shooting Reflection

Image
On Sunday, one of the deadliest mass shootings occurred at a country music festival in Las Vegas. My heart is breaking for all the victims that were killed (58) and many more that were injured, as well as their families. We need more love, unity, and peace in this world, so that another horrific event like this does not happen again. We need people to look at this mass shooting and call it what it is, it is terrorism. Just because the shooter was a non-Muslim white American, the media will not label is a terrorist attack and are labeling the shooter "mentally ill." It is so disgusting to me how white people have so much privilege just based off of their skin color. Beautiful innocent souls are suffering, for an act of hatred that is so evil. My thoughts and prayers are with ALL the people of this country, and I wish with all my heart that a tragic event like this will not occur again. I am so grateful to even be alive and breathing right now, and I can't imagine the pain ...

The Six Attitudes of High Achievers

Image
By: John R. Noe 1. High achievers make no small plans: Plan BIG I agree with this attitude by John R Noe. In order to be successful in life, we need to show that we want success. We can do this by planning big, and taking those actions. An example of this can be if you are planning to go to college, you need to plan BIG since freshman year. Since freshman year, you need to have good grades and be involved in school. Also throughout these 4 years you should be looking into your major and which colleges you would like to study at. If you barely start planning your senior year, you will be making small plans & will be unprepared. Planning BIG to me is planning ahead of time so that your plans will be carried out smoothly. I will apply this new attitude by not limiting myself to having small plans. When I make plans for myself, I will make sure to always plan BIG so that my goals will be reached and so that I set high standards for myself. If I set these high standards and pla...

9/11 Freelance Post.

September 11. 2017 The event that happened on 9/11 is very tragic, so tragic that we remember what happened every year on September 11th. The impact left a gaping, burning hole near the 80th floor of the 110-story skyscraper, instantly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more in higher floors. The collision caused a massive explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and onto the streets below. It immediately became clear that America was under attack.

Colorguard Blog

Image
Colorguard The color guard performs alongside the marching band at football games and most guards regularly compete in competitions during the fall. The purpose of the color guard is to interpret the music that the marching band or drum and bugle corps is playing via the synchronized work of flags, sabers, rifles, the air blade,  and through dance. The color guard uses different colors and styles of flags like swing flags and tapered flags  to enhance the visual effect of the marching band as a whole. Color guard also may use backdrops to bring color and scenery to the field if the concept of the show is hard to interpret. To me color guard is my escape from reality. I also became a co-captain this year so I get to assist in creating routines for the girls.

9 Ways Post

9 Ways To Be Happy And Make Something Out Of Your Life Gordon B Hinckley 1. Be Grateful To me, being grateful is taking the time to notice and reflect upon things that I am thankful about. Gratitude isn't something to recognize only after you've had a momentous moment in your life, it is something you should have even for simple thing such as a piece of cake. Being a grateful person not only makes you feel better about yourself, but it also gives you satisfaction & positivity. One thing I like to do when I wake up in the morning is to notice what I am grateful for each day, whether it be something new or old in my life. Another thing about gratitude is that we shouldn't keep it bottled up within ourselves all of the time. It is a very nice thing when others feel appreciated for the things they do for us when we express our gratitude. It only takes about a minute to really step back and reflect on things we are grateful on, so why not do it more often? I feel as ...
