Colorguard The color guard performs alongside the marching band at football games and most guards regularly compete in competitions during the fall. The purpose of the color guard is to interpret the music that the marching band or drum and bugle corps is playing via the synchronized work of flags, sabers, rifles, the air blade,  and through dance. The color guard uses different colors and styles of flags like swing flags and tapered flags  to enhance the visual effect of the marching band as a whole. Color guard also may use backdrops to bring color and scenery to the field if the concept of the show is hard to interpret. To me color guard is my escape from reality. I also became a co-captain this year so I get to assist in creating routines for the girls.

9 Ways To Be Happy And Make Something Out Of Your Life Gordon B Hinckley 1. Be Grateful To me, being grateful is taking the time to notice and reflect upon things that I am thankful about. Gratitude isn't something to recognize only after you've had a momentous moment in your life, it is something you should have even for simple thing such as a piece of cake. Being a grateful person not only makes you feel better about yourself, but it also gives you satisfaction & positivity. It only takes about a minute to really step back and reflect on things we are grateful on, so why not do it more often? I feel as
SUMMER 2017 This summer was honestly one of the most productive summers that I've think I've had thus far in my life. This is mainly because I was working a paid internship at Kaiser Permanente and really got a sense of what having a career in the real world is like and also the workload and responsibility that comes with having a job. It was such an amazing experience to see what working in the medical field is really like, since I have a strong goal to study and become a nurse. Aside from working at the hospital this summer, I also had a lo t of fun bonding with my color guard team at our practices and at camp. Lastly, what I also decided to do with my summer is take a couple college courses at the East Los Angeles College campus in South Gate, which I am still currently enrolled in until the end of this week. Taking these courses has made me realize college and high school are so different in every way and half of what we learn in high school to prepare for college is irrel
